The Cape Playhouse

The Cape Playhouse

“Where Broadway goes to summer.”

Blending a 19th century Cape meetinghouse, an extraordinary history, and nearly 90 seasons of top-notch professional theater makes The Cape Playhouse one of the most famous summer theatres in the country. Truly “America’s Oldest Professional Summer Theatre,” The Cape Playhouse combines the best comedies, musicals, mysteries, and dramas with unforgettable performances from the nation’s finest actors. Legends such as Bette Davis, Humphrey Bogart, and Lana Turner graced the Cape Playhouse stage, leading the way for many of the most beloved film, stage, and television stars. Located on the lovely 23-acre Cape Cod Center for the Arts in Dennis Village and open from mid-June through early September, you don’t have to leave Cape Cod to see professional theater! It’s today’s theater in a traditional setting.

If any patrons in your party have mobility concerns, we recommend selecting seats in the orchestra as balcony and loge seating are only accessible by stairs and require the use of a steep ramp.

Orchestra seats in rows AA through J are accessed via two small steps. Seats in orchestra rows K through R do not require any steps to access them.

Wheelchair accessible seating is located in orchestra row K seats 101-105. When purchasing these seats please indicate if you will need a seat removed for a wheelchair. Due to the limited availability of wheelchair accessible seating in our historic theatre, we ask that only one companion seat be purchased in the wheelchair accessible section to allow space for other patrons with wheelchairs.
