Founded in 2011 by high school music teachers looking for an opportunity focused on student growth and connections, NE Voices started as an annual festival experience in the Boston area for high school vocal ensembles and their teachers that is educationally sound, affordable, and current with contemporary a cappella trends. Over a decade later, NE Voices has expanded into two annual educational events: the NE Voices Festival, and a brand new summer program, Nexus.
As the field of contemporary a cappella continues to grow, NE Voices seeks to support young musicians with a passion for singing together. NE Voices incorporated in 2020, and is now a 501c3 non-profit organization run by an all-volunteer staff. The team is composed of local high school teachers, contemporary a cappella professionals, and individuals with backgrounds in education and youth development. With this team, we are uniquely positioned to meet the needs of our students through curricula and educational opportunities designed with high school musicians in mind.
