The spark of inspiration that was to become Marblehead Little Theatre (MLT) was started in 1955 by members of the drama committee of the Marblehead Woman’s Club. The group led by visionary Terry Hale ignited the imagination of actors and directors in and around Marblehead to tackle bigger and better things. Six decades later, it has proven to be one of the oldest community theatre groups in New England, as well as one of the few to have continually produced shows each year. Offerings include plays and musicals, Children’s Theater programming, workshops and training, visiting artist performances, and space rental.
