When the Raven Flies

Join the Scandinavian Cultural Center for a rare screening from the comfort of your own home of When the Raven Flies, the classic Icelandic film of revenge set in the early days of Iceland’s settlement period. The film received a Guldbagge Award (the Swedish equivalent of the Academy Awards) for Best Director in 1985 and has been named the best Icelandic film of all time by the Icelandic online newspaper, Kjarninn. This screening features a new, high-quality digital transfer that has not previously been available.

As a special bonus, an all-new interview featuring the writer and director of the film, Hrafn Gunnlaugsson, with Rowdy Geirsson (author of Norse Mythology for Bostonians) and Matt Smith (creator of Barbarian Lord) is included with the rental.
