University of Massachusetts-Amherst Assistant Professor of Music Marianna Ritchey presents a virtual colloquium.
Most of the activist efforts to “save” or “revitalize” classical music in the U.S. are oriented toward one of two goals: they either insist that artists must become entrepreneurs in order to reach new consumer markets, or they demand that the government continue to fund art with grants.
