Dance Dialogue: Traka's Evolution

A conversation on the inception and evolution of Traka, a full-length Haitian-contemporary dance performance exploring trauma and healing, featuring Jean Appolon with Danielle Legros Georges of Lesley University.

JAE is proud to have partnered with the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and videographer, Paloma Valenzuela, to create a film on the creation of Traka, through the Gardners' Amplifier Projects. These projects highlight change-makers working toward social justice through the arts.
Premiering May 31, 2021, this short documentary film delves into the making of Traka, Appolon’s most recent production. Traka explores how dance, culture, and community are pathways to healing for trauma survivors.
