JAE is proud to have partnered with the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and videographer, Paloma Valenzuela, to create a film on the creation of Traka, through the Gardners' Amplifier Projects. These projects highlight change-makers working toward social justice through the arts.
Premiering May 31, 2021, this short documentary film delves into the making of Traka, Appolon’s most recent production. Traka explores how dance, culture, and community are pathways to healing for trauma survivors. The production was created through healing community workshops and is based primarily on Appolon’s personal story of trauma and the role of dance in his healing and success.

Joining Jean and Danielle will be key partners from throughout Traka's evolution, including: Nadia Issa, JAE company dancer and cultural strategist; Erin Morrell, LSWA of Ascentria Health; and Val Jeanty, afrofuturist, composer, turntablist, and professor at Berklee College of Music.
