"Artist Housing grew out of the realization that my personal experiences at any time were literally rooted in my housing of the moment… whether that housing was physical, spiritual, artistic, political.
Over the years as a visiting artist at universities and forums, I was struck by how many times I was queried about my early experiences as a Black creative artist. Since I’d kept loose journals for years, I decide to share aloud my theater/activist stories, which ranged from the 60s
