Join us as we launch our Winter 2021 virtual series with an All-Schubert program! The event includes a brief introduction by Artistic Director Marcus Thompson and new video performance of Schubert’s beloved Trout Quintet and String Trio.
Schubert’s String Trio in B-flat major comprises four brief movements in moderate tempos. Traditional Viennese elegance infuses the work, while passing chromaticism and ornamental figuration lend a distinctive Schubertian sound. Virtuosic flourishes in the violin and an extended viola solo in the Minuet are among the work’s highlights.
