Literations is a literacy organization dedicated to improving the reading proficiency of young students in 1st – 4th grade in under-resourced communities, using a proven literacy model and trained older adult volunteer coaches. We provide critical literacy support at Boston and Framingham Public Schools and community-based after-school programs. We also provide meaningful opportunities to older adults who serve as literacy coach volunteers. Literations envisions a day when all students enter middle school as proficient readers poised for academic success, and we are dedicated to providing targeted, sustained literacy support to the region’s youngest students in an effort to close gaps in early literacy skills before students fall behind.
