The City of Holyoke has embraced the creative economy as a strategy for economic revival. In 2012 the Morse Administration created the position of Creative Economy Industries Coordinator (CEIC), the first of its kind in the commonwealth. One responsibility of the CEIC is to assist community organization in executing large draw cultural events.
