Where We At?! Black Women Artists and the Black Arts Movement

A talk by Kiara Hill, PhD candidate, W.E.B. Du Bois Department of Afro-American Studies, UMass Amherst, held in Smith College Campus Center 103/104

Currently a third-year doctoral student in the W.E.B. DuBois Department of African American Studies at UMass Amherst, Kiara Hill is also pursuing a graduate certificate in Public History from the Department of History. She received her B.A. in Mass Communications from Sacramento State University, and her M.A. in Women’s Studies from the University of Alabama. Her interests include Black female sexuality in popular culture, transnational feminism and Black feminism. She is also interested in highlighting Black female narratives within the field of Public History through museum exhibitions and historical sites.
