Waldo Evan Jespersen and Andrea Thompson at Boston Sculptors Gallery

Hoc Modo is the latest solo show of internationally-exhibited sculptor Waldo Evan Jespersen. Known for his large-scale work in a variety of media, some of Jespersen’s previous sculptures include vast paper expanses (Paper Cloud, 2017) and two-story glowing wooden towers (Tower Two, 2015). His art is detached from any particular medium, and instead deeply grounded in the process of elegantly resolving challenging situations.

Andrea Thompson’s semi-transparent forms resemble a castaway’s improvised construction, as well as organic forms such as seedpods or cocoons. Ranging from four to twelve feet in length, each is unique, yet they form a family that is clearly traveling together, bound for some unseen destination.
