Turning the Tables: Artists Look at Poetry

This October, artists respond to text and poets respond to art. Loading Dock Gallery presents its annual New England Regional Juried Show, Turning the Tables: Artists Look at Poetry, juried by Julie Marie Hoey. Artists use text as subject and inspiration, borrowing it, manipulating it, and reimagining it as imagery. At the reception, local poets, led by Stephan Anstey, present original poems inspired by a piece in the exhibit, part of the 9th Annual Poetry Convergence held each fall in Lowell.

Turning the Tables: Artists Look at Poetry was juried by Julie Marie Hoey: artist, writer, teacher, poet, and believer. Hoey has exhibited throughout the country. Her paintings hang in the U.S., South America, and Europe.

Turning the Tables: Artists Look at Poetry runs October 4-29, 2023, at Loading Dock Gallery, 122 Western Avenue, Lowell, MA, open noon-5:30pm, Wednesday-Saturday, noon-4pm Sundays.
