Shantel C. | Tuesdays, October 19th and October 26th (rain date)
Shantel is a young and ambitious upcoming Cape Verdean-American artist born and raised in Dorchester, Boston MA. Only a sophomore at the Berklee College of Music, she is one of the most active performers in the Cape Verdean community within the United States. Respected alongside established Cape Verdean artists, Shantel’s abilities allow her to share the stage and status with various decorated artists in her genre, including Gil Semedo, Elida Almeida, and Cordas do Sol, name a few. Starting in 2018, she began learning and performing songs in Cape Verdean Creole, the language of her roots, for the first time and fell in love with the music of her culture. Performing all over the Cape Verdean diaspora in Boston, Brockton, and Providence, Shantel uses her dual identity to spread awareness to and convey the beauty that lies within the story of her Cape Verdean people.
