Founding member of the Afro-Cuban/Afro-Beat band, Yerba Buena, Cuban singer and percussionist Pedrito Martinez founded The Pedrito Martinez Group in NYC in 2005. A consummate master of Afro-Cuban music and the batá drum, Martinez has been called a "genius" by Wynton Marsalis, "an incomparable performer" by The New York Times, and has been said to be "writing a new chapter in Cuban music history."
