The Muralist: Songs for the American Worker

In connection with the Winchester Reads book of the year – The Muralist – WCMS guitar department chair Mike Verge and his all-acoustic band will perform songs by Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Phil Ochs, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and more.

Please join WCMS and the entire Winchester community as we celebrate the Winchester Reads 2017 book of the year, The Muralist. The concert will begin with the 1930s era of the WPA “New Deal” and its public support of the arts, as featured in The Muralist, and move through the decades with songs dedicated to the American worker, their struggles, and their dreams.
