The Makanda Project featuring Avery Sharpe

The Makanda Project returns to the Roxbury Branch of the Boston Public Library, where it performed regularly from 2008-2017.  The branch had been closed first to renovations and then to Covid. The concert will feature the remarkable bassist Avery Sharpe, best known for having performed with the great pianist McCoy Tyner for over 20 years, and also an important composer and bandleader in his own right. The concert will feature two of Mr. Sharpe’s pieces as well as compositions by Makanda Ken McIntyre.

There will be two separate shows, at 7:00 and 8:30. Because of Covid, seating capacity will be limited and reservations recommended.
