The Makanda Project returns to its longtime home at the Roxbury Branch of the Boston Public Library
The Makanda Project returns to the Roxbury Branch of the Boston Public Library, where it performed regularly from 2008-2017. The branch had been closed first to renovations and then to Covid. The concert will feature the remarkable bassist Avery Sharpe, best known for having performed with the great pianist McCoy Tyner for over 20 years, and also an important composer and bandleader in his own right.
