Terezin: Children of the Holocaust - Virtual Film Premiere

The film Terezin – Children of the Holocaust features an introduction from playwright Anna Smulowitz, followed by a production of Terezin, and after the credits there is a Cast Talk-Back about the performance.  The cast is comprised of six local students who created a Covid-safe “social bubble” to rehearse and film this production.  They felt it was critical to share the message of the play at this challenging moment in history.  Total running time is 1 hour, 43 minutes.

Terezin follows a day and night in the lives of six children held at Camp Theresienstadt in the Czech Republic.  The camp, also known as Terezin, imprisoned thousands of European Jews, including over 15,000 children during the Nazi era.  While the play takes place during the Holocaust, it teaches audiences about the consequences of hate and discrimination, the need for greater social responsibility, and the power of every individual voice in standing up to hate.
