Summer Series Organ Concert - Mark Campbell

Mark Campbell grew up listening to his father’s vast library of LP recordings of organists such as E. Power Biggs and Marcel Dupré. After a decade of piano lessons, he began studying the organ in high school with Carol Dean, a community organ teacher. He earned his Bachelor of Music in Organ Performance from Brigham Young University, where he studied with Dr. Douglas Bush. He then pursued his Master of Music degree in Organ with Dr. David Eaton and Professor Robert S. Brewer at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He is currently a candidate for the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Church Music at the University of Kansas, studying under Dr. James Higdon and Dr. Michael Bauer. Mark enjoys travel, having visited several countries in eastern Europe and Asia. He enjoys encountering new pipe organs, and has created his own video series on YouTube called “Pipe Organ Stops”, which is geared towards getting young people interested in the pipe organ. He also loves to compose for the organ, as well as for choirs and other ensembles. He and his wife Ashley are the parents of five children.
