Jennifer Pascual, first woman to be appointed Director of Music at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City, plays works by Creston, Bach, Surzynski, Chopin, Lasilag, Robinson, Mendelssohn, Peele, Hakim, Yon, Langlais, and Stanford.
Dr. Jennifer Pascual earned a D.M.A. degree (organ) from Eastman in Rochester, NY, a M.M. degree (piano) from Mannes College, NYC and B.M.E. and B.M. degrees (piano and organ) from Jacksonville University, FL. She has served at a liturgical musician in the Dioceses of St. Augustine (FL), Rochester (NY), Newark (NJ), and New York (NY). From 2007 to 2014, Jennifer was Professor and Director of Music of St. Joseph’s Seminary and College in New York. In 2008, Dr. Pascual selected and conducted all the liturgical music for Pope Benedict XVI’s NYC visit, conducted the St. Patrick’s Cathedral Choir at the White House for the National Day of Prayer, and was named a Dame of the Order of St. Gregory, a papal recognition of service to the Church. She also selected and conducted all the liturgical music for Pope Francis’ NYC visit in 2015. She has conducted both the NY Archdiocesan Festival Chorale and the St. Patrick’s Cathedral Choir at the Vatican. She hosts a weekly radio show called “Sounds from the Spires” on The Catholic Channel of SIRIUS/XM radio. Jennifer has performed in Austria, Belgium, Canada, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Lebanon, Palestine, the Philippines, Poland, Russia, Spain, Vatican City and in several of the United States.
