"Solstice", Nancy Selvage; "Bespoke", Kenson Truong

This exhibition features sculptures that respond to the Winter Solstice/New Year’s cycle with an acute awareness of our perilous climate crisis. The ancient impetus to light “beseeching fires to drive the dark away” has evolved to excessive fuel-fired KWHs that have driven the dark away. The primal urge to celebrate the sun’s annual renewal is enhanced by our critical need to harness its energy for all of our power.

Bespoke, Kenson Truong’s premiere solo exhibition at Boston Sculptors Gallery, explores visual and linguistic devices of camouflage through light, text, and sculptural installation. Inspired by the sensational camouflaging abilities of the octopus which allow it to hide in plain sight, the use of ultraviolet media allow Truong to create work that is virtually invisible.
