Kilimanjaro Documentary Screening, Panel Discussion and Reception

In 2015, Kupenda for the Children accompanied 3 Kenyan teens on their climb up Mount Kilimanjaro. Join us to hear the story of those who have overcome immense challenges to prove that disability is not inability.

On March 22, the Reel Abilities Film Festival is hosting a showing of the 1-hour film about this powerful project. See the trailer here.

After, we’ll have a panel discussion with Cynthia Bauer and Leonard Mbonani, (co-founders of Kupenda) and the Kenyan youth who hiked Mt. Kilimanjaro. The filmmaker, Phil Knowlton, and one of the guides, Julia Spruance, will also join the panel.

Then join us for a fun reception at the Hamilton Restaurant and Bar (which is right next to the theater). We’ll have appetizers, a cash bar, and a chance to mingle with the film stars!
