The Nichols House Museum on Boston’s historic Beacon Hill was home to an early-20th-century family of artists and social activists, as well as their domestic staff. Preserved as a museum by Rose Nichols, the museum is filled with an original collection, including sculpture by Augustus Saint-Gaudens and Arts and Crafts pieces created by Rose. Decorated with a blend of early American furniture, Aesthetic Movement-influenced decor, and East Asian artwork, the home reflects the bohemian-inflected charm that characterized the Nichols family.
