This event has been restricted to the Wellesley College community.

Gish Jen’s new novel, The Resisters (February 2020), invites the reader into a not-so-distant dystopian future. In AutoAmerica, water covers half the land and the internet has become the face of a surveillance state.

Jen’s previous works include The Girl at the Baggage Claim: Explaining the East-West Culture Gap (2017), Tiger Writing: Art, Culture, and the Interdependent Self (2013), Love Wife (2004), and Mona in the Promised Land (1996). Her short stories have appeared in the New Yorker,
