The exhibits at the QArts Gallery are a must see. Opalescence, a solo show of oils by Dorchester artist Vincent Crotty, immerses you into his world of light and shadow, harmoniously sharing thirty-six canvases with brilliant and moody colors and textures. Vincent chooses land and seascapes of both serene and bustling locations. Vincent has been exhibiting his work for over 35 years, with gallery shows in Ireland and throughout the US. His paintings have been recognized with awards from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, the John Stobart Foundation, Plein Air Magazine, and plein air competitions internationally.
Running parallel with Vincent Crotty is Deb Putnam of South Boston. Deb Putnam’s work is showcased in the gallery’s very first Member of the Month exhibit. Her paintings depict the ordinary of family life in an extraordinarily sensitive use of her brush and palette. Her Boston-scapes reflect the soul of a changing city. Deb’s oil paintings can be found in local art exhibitions and in private collections. She is a member of the Quincy Arts Association and the Portrait Society of America.
