Opening Reception: Visions of Trane

How does the revolutionary become the standard, the rule not the exception? Curated by artist and musician Terry Jenoure, Visions of Trane, highlights the history, experimentation, and improvisation of John Coltrane as a marriage of contemporary art and music. Through the lens of Coltrane’s modal jazz classic, “Naima,” the New Art Center Exhibition, unifies sound and a visual landscape with the works of Julie Fei-Fan Balzer, Andres Chaparro, Terry Jenoure, Iwalani KaluhioKalani, and Kenson Truong.
