Ensemble 44 is pleased to present “Music For Mary”; selections composed from the 12th – 17th centuries focusing on the Virgin Mary and the story of Jesus. About The Performers: A Lincoln resident, Kathleen McDougald-Lee is the founding and Artistic Director of Ensemble 44 who holds a Master’s Degree in Harpsichord Performance from the Longy School of Music. She is a church organist, choir director, and taught music in the Boston Public Schools. Soprano Caitlin Laird holds a MM in Historical Performance Voice from the Longy School of Music and has performed with 415 Consort, Boston Camerata, Jubilate Chamber Chorus and Sunflower Baroque. Bruce Larkin, Baritone and Recorders, has degrees from the University of Michigan and in Early Music Performance from Sarah Lawrence College. He has performed in symphony orchestras, sung with Fortuna Renaissance Choir, New Haven Chorales and is a member of Gropina. Trained as a flutist and oboist, Nouri Newman, has performed on Renaissance and Baroque recorders in 415 Consort, Gropina and the Boston Recorder Orchestra. She is a student of Heloise Degrugillier. As a young boy, Violinist and multi instrumentalist Ishmael Stefanov-Wagner became fascinated by early music listening to a public library collection. He founded Renaissance music groups in High School, College and present. Bass Gambist and newest member of Ensemble 44, Berit Strong has performed in 4 Baroque Operas at the Amherst Early Music Festivals, in masterclasses with Sarah Cunningham, and studies with Jane Hershey. She is an acclaimed classical guitarist.
