Music for Food is excited to announce its 12th Boston core concert season--Sound, Texture, Color, Gesture!--which features both the music and the art of composers such as Hindemith, Mendelssohn, and Gershwin. The season opener on October 10, 2021 at 7:30pm in New England Conservatory’s Brown Hall will include projections of composers' artwork to accompany musical performances by esteemed artists.

Music for Food is excited to announce its 12th Boston core concert season–Sound, Texture, Color, Gesture!–which features both the music and the art of composers such as Hindemith, Mendelssohn, and Gershwin. The season opener on October 10, 2021 at 7:30pm in New England Conservatory’s Brown Hall will include projections of composers’ artwork to accompany musical performances by esteemed artists.

Gershwin Rhapsody in Blue (chamber arrangement)

Mendelssohn String Quartet in A minor, Op. 13
Miriam Fried and Paul Biss, violins, Luther Warren, viola, and Julia Yang, Cello

Suggested donation is $30+, $10+ students, collected at the door. 100% of donations will benefit Women’s Lunch Place—a day shelter serving homeless women in the greater Boston area.

Music for Food is a musician-led initiative for local hunger relief. All concerts raise resources and awareness in the fight against hunger, empowering any musicians who wish to use their artistry to further social justice. Founded in 2010 by Grammy award-winning violist Kim Kashkashian, Music for Food has sent funds for over 1.5 million meals to hunger-relief organizations nationwide, with the volunteer participation of more than 160 artists and ensembles.
