Miró Quartet & Anthony McGill (Canceled)

New York Philharmonic clarinetist Anthony McGill returns after his spectacular performance in last year’s Festival to perform two classics of the clarinet repertoire—Debussy’s beautiful Première Rhapsodie and the Brahms’ nostalgic Clarinet Quintet with the Miró Quartet. Debussy described his work as “one of the most pleasing pieces I have ever written.” First prize winners at numerous competitions, including Banff and Naumburg, the Miró brings the East Coast premiere of Kevin Puts’s new work Home (co-commissioned by Rockport Music) which was inspired by the refugee crisis.
