Singers ages 20 to 30 perform at historic Jordan Hall before judges of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.
Experience the thrill of competition and the joy of song. Rising opera stars sing a wide variety of arias, vying for cash awards and a spot in the National Semi-Finals Audition on stage at the Met. Applause is encouraged.
Many of the world's foremost singers, among them Renée Fleming, Samuel Ramey, and Deborah Voigt, have received awards from the National Council. Annually, approximately 100 former auditioners appear in Metropolitan Opera productions.
