MassArt Art Museum: Virtual Drawing Together

An interdisciplinary performance and drawing event, led by live model and performer Cassandre Charles and hosted by MAAM and MassArt Studio Foundation Professor Edward Monovich.
Cassandre describes the event:
“As artists, our hands connect us to our ancestors. We are preceded by carvers, painters, stone masons, farmers and revolutionaries. Constructive energy from our forebearers courses through us as we sculpt the present day with outstretched arms and raised fists. We recognize and welcome our responsibility and power as artists; we work to transform our world.”
Through a series of movements, interdisciplinary artist Cassandre Charles conjures spirits of transformation for this moment, which is rife with possibility. A recurring theme for this event is the kinetic and metaphoric power of hands. As a vehicle for artistic expression, hands punctuate each movement, pose and performance. They catalyze transformation. We welcome you to draw and move with us.
