Margaret Martin Kvamme Visits the Great Organ

In the fifth concert of the 2023 Summer Series, Margaret Kvamme shares music written or arranged by women.  The program includes works by Fanny Mendelssohn, Clara Schumann, Florence Price, and Caterina Assandra,  as well as contemporary works by Rachel Laurin, Marilyn Biery, Brenda Portman and Emma Lou Diemer.

Margaret Kvamme regularly hosts pipe organ “informances” for young people.  She has been a soloist in recent years at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and at Stanford University and was twice featured in the Santa Cruz Baroque Festival.  Her teachers include David Craighead, David Higgs, and Robert Glasgow.  She has directed university, high school, church and community choruses and was for four years on the faculty of the University of California at Santa Cruz.
