Lamplighter x Brattle Theater

Kicking off an ongoing program of “takovers” by our local concessions vendors, The Brattle Theater is excited to turn over the programming reins to our friends at Lamplighter Brewing for an evening of film and beer! The Brattle asked Lamplighter what they wanted to play, and this is the whiplash inducing result… This wasn’t really conceived as a double feature, but The Brattle is going to play it that way anyway.

Lady Bird: In Greta Gerwig’s delightful, assured solo directorial debut, Saoirse Ronan stars as a high school senior who yearns for sophistication but finds it thin on the ground in Sacramento.

Midsommar: Ari Aster once again brings the pain for a gorgeous, visceral film at the crossroads of grief and horror. In MIDSOMMAR, Florence Pugh stars as a grad student who is reeling from a family tragedy yet finds herself convinced to go on a vacation to a remote Swedish village with her crappy boyfriend and his buddies. Unfortunately, what should have been an idyllic summer holiday turns into a sun-dappled nightmare, as the village’s bizarre and disturbing rituals begin to be revealed.

Each film will be accompanied by a beer tasting with Lamplighter.
