June 19th or JUNETEENTH as many of us know it to be, is a celebration held annually on the nineteenth of June by Black/African Americans (especially in the southern states), to commemorate emancipation from slavery in Texas on that day in 1865.
This is a day where our beautiful Black AF community can, like every day, CELEBRATE US! It is a day of being in community with each other and celebrating our collective and intersecting history.
