Jazz Trio Plays “Songs of Hope and Resilience

Drummer Yoron Israel joins pianist John Kramer and bassist Rick McLaughlin on Friday January 28th for a virtual performance of "Songs of Hope and Resilience."

Please join us for an evening of jazz written for this moment, to provide calm and reassurance, inspire hope and wonder, and renew the spirit.

This year, Winchester Unitarian Society’s Jazz in the Sanctuary presents “Songs of Hope and Resilience,” a live online concert, Friday, January 28th at 8:00 PM.  The program features new jazz compositions written by pianist, arranger, and composer John Kramer. These works draw from the great wealth of jazz history and style as it charts a course toward the future. Music will be performed by John Kramer on piano, Rick McLaughlin on bass, and Yoron Israel on drums.

About the musicians:  John Kramer has written music for piano, organ, orchestra, and choir and has received numerous commissions. He is an assistant professor in the Harmony Department at Berklee College of music and serves as Music Director at the Winchester Unitarian Society. Rick McLaughlin has performed and recorded worldwide as a bandleader, sideman, and member of the Grammy-nominated jazz group Either/Orchestra. He is an assistant professor in the Harmony Department at Berklee College of Music. Yoron Israel has recorded and worked with numerous jazz artists, including Horace Silver, Art Farmer, and Freddie Hubbard. He is assistant chair and professor in the Percussion Department at Berklee College of Music.
