Jamaica Plain Porchfest

Jamaica Plain Porchfest is back and better than ever with some exciting new updates! With new partnerships and fun ways to enjoy the event, we’re thrilled to bring you a day of unimaginable fun and community on August 20 from 12-6pm. After spending the last two years shut out from our neighbors and feeling isolated in the face of the pandemic, this is an opportunity to rebuild our feelings of community through communal art experiences by introducing “Community Hour,” a one-hour block in the festival from 3-4 pm where all other programming shuts down to encourage attendees to congregate in central locations to join in a moment of togetherness, joy, and celebration. This programming will include circle singing, Haitian folklore dance and more!
WHAT TO EXPECT:

An entirely free day of community geared outdoor arts performances
Performances all over Jamaica Plain on porches, driveways, front yards and more.
Porches curated by community partners: CulturalAgora, and Meraki taking place at The Eliot School and the Loring Greenough House.
Community Hours Facilitated by Jean Appolon Expressions, Neo Gcabo and more taking place at the mainstages as well as at the Anna M. Cole Community Center.
A day filled with fun engaging activities such as ReachYou at the Jamaica Plain Pond, ReRooted at Porchfest Central, and more!
