It's A Long Way

It’s a Long Way explores our collective experience of living through the 19 months since our last Skylark concert. It has been a time of great disruption, of isolation, of fear, and of loss, but also a time for reflection, for hope, for growth, and for action. In addition to pieces arranged for choir, half a dozen Skylark singers are featured as soloists in a concert that explores a wide range of musical styles – renaissance polyphony, traditional folksongs, modern choral compositions, solo songs for voice, romantic lieder, and even a classic jazz standard. It’s a Long Way was recorded as Skylark’s next album in the summer of 2021, with 26 artists taking part in a innovative recording that we believe may be our finest yet.
