Join Indigenous Peoples Day Newton for a screening of “Beans” in support of our 4th Annual Indigenous Peoples Day Ceremonial Celebration followed by a panel discussion!
Beans is a 2020 Canadian drama film directed by Mohawk-Canadian filmmaker Tracey Deer. It chronicles the 78-day standoff between two Mohawk communities & government forces in 1990 Quebec through the eyes of Tekehentahkhwa (nicknamed "Beans"), a young Mohawk girl whose perspective on life is radically changed by these events.

This event is open to all. Tickets are required. Suggested donation $35 for single tickets & $60 for 2 tickets. There is also an option to "Buy an Elder's Ticket" if you would like to help Indigenous Elders attend this event. All donations support Indigenous Peoples Day Newton's 4th Annual Indigenous Peoples Day Ceremonial Celebration.
Each ticket includes entry to the screening, popcorn, & a drink.
