Presented by Huntington Theatre Company at Online/Virtual Space

Huntington @ HomeSchool: Shakespeare and Gender: Women of the Tragedies

Instructor: Regine Vital, Manager of Curriculum and Instruction

If he were alive today, would Shakespeare be a feminist? Maybe, maybe not. But it can be said his works contain some of the most formidable female characters of the period's drama. In this class (part play discussion, part scene study) we will discuss the women of the tragedies, among them: Gertrude, Desdemona, Lady Macbeth, and the daughters in King Lear.
