Anaís Azul & Fabiola Mendez are performing at Club Passim on Monday, February 24, 2020, for this month’s Global Roots.

Global Roots is a monthly series that celebrates international roots music. The fourth Monday of each month will bring sounds from around the world to the intimate club. With Passim’s access to the “global city” of Boston, this eclectic series, features some of the best global artists from international students to lifetime stalwarts from the region.

The Showdown puts the best Fusion and Bollywood/Hindi-Film dance teams up against one another, giving the judges the unenviable task of deciding who is the best of the best. Fusion dance combines different dance styles, set to Indian music, creating its own distinct form of dance, while the Bollywood and Hindi-Film dance style is inspired by the musical numbers seen in Indian films and features expression, themes, and storylines.
