Gel Plate Printmaking

For both new and returning artists, this course will explore the spontaneous and addictive process of creating prints without a press using a gel plate. Returning artists will find new and expanded techniques and projects, and new students can jump right in with this accessible way of creating art. We will explore color, make our own texture tools and mask overlays, and use stencils, while building up multiple layers in our prints. Each class will focus on a different approach to using the gel plate and will include one or two targeted projects, as well as demonstrations and time for experimentation. Please note: A choice of kit materials will be available for safe pick-up in Arlington the week of the class. A small additional supply list will be emailed once the class has reached minimum enrollment. Tuition includes the $30 supply kit fee.
