GBH at the Brewery: From Grain to Glass

John Lincecum, PhD is one of the co-owners of Turtle Swamp Brewing. John is a home brewer of 25 years and a professional biochemist. He is a 15 year veteran of the Cambridge biotechnology industry whose research focused on discovering novel therapies for neurodegenerative diseases such as ALS. At a point in which one of his potential therapies left his hands for clinical trials, John left biotech for a new adventure, bringing his biochemistry experience to brewing.

From Grain to Glass, learn about the brewing process while you engage in a discussion of the biology of malt, the biochemistry of hops bittering, and the magic of domesticating wild yeast. Engage your senses as you sample grains and hops that are used in beer. Taste beer in the middle of the process as you’re poured samples right from the tanks! Get all your questions answered- with a beer in your hand!
