Fun Home is a fiercely funny, and, at times heartbreaking, show about coming of age while growing up in the family-owned funeral home–the “fun home”. This groundbreaking new musical is based on Alison Bechdel’s best-selling graphic novel and memoir. The audience is introduced to Alison at three different ages: sharing memories that celebrate the curiosity of childhood, the challenges of coming out, the complexities of family, and the revelation of seeing one’s parents through grown-up eyes. Aimee Doherty, a two-time recipient of the Elliot Norton Award and a two-time recipient of the IRNE Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical, will bring Alison Bechdel, the inspirational heroine, to life.
