Ellen School asks how we can bring our tactile sense of form into the digital sphere (using clay) and Zoe Friend examines her ataxophobia (a fear of clutter) with her maximalist creatures of consumer detritus.
Zoe Friend plays on the term ataxophobia, a clinical condition described as “a fear of clutter or messy surroundings,” the exhibition features assemblage sculptural works exploring the fetishization of objects through the artist’s baroque-inspired maximal aesthetic.
