Drummer G. Calvin Weston joins members of "Listen To This" for "Third Thursdays" in March

Mark your calendars for the return of the iconic jazz drummer G. Calvin Weston, who last performed as a guest of the “Third Thursdays” harmolodic jazz series back in September 2022. Keyboardist Dave Bryant, the host of the series, is a long-time colleague of Weston’s, harkening back to Ornette Coleman‘s electric Prime Time era.

One of the missions of the “Third Thursdays” series is to interview as many former band mates of Ornette Coleman’s as possible, in order to increase awareness about Coleman’s legacy and his unique free jazz approach to music. For Weston’s return to “Third Thursdays”, he will be joined by two of Bryant’s fellow members of the electric Miles Davis tribute band “Listen To This”: J Johnson (guitar) and Rick McLaughlin (bass).
