Don Braden & the Harvard Alumni Jazz Band

Tenor saxophonist Don Braden needs no introduction to jazz enthusiasts. He long ago ascended to the heights, performing and recording with Betty Carter, Wynton Marsalis, Freddie Hubbard, Tony Williams, Roy Haynes, and many others.
And now, thanks to his ties to Harvard University (his alma mater) and the Harvard Alumni Jazz Band (HAJB), he will be appearing UPstairs@POSTunderground on 4/14, 8 PM, for one night only.

Braden and HAJB will play two sets, alternating between quartet and big band. He’ll be featured on classics from the HAJB book (Buddy Rich, Thad Jones/Mel Lewis, Maynard Ferguson, Count Basie, Stan Kenton) as well as on his own big band arrangements, including Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing and Cherokee.
