Paintings from the artist’s Liberty Series explore questions about our shared national identity
For the century that the Statue of Liberty has stood in New York Harbor, it has meant many things to the people who see it – hope, compassion, justice, freedom. The paintings in this exhibit use our shared familiarity with the Statue to explore questions about our country’s identity and its contradictions.
