Deborah Mason’s CYDP DANCE COMPANY will celebrate 20 seasons with two performances on April 6 (7 PM) and 7 (2 PM), 2024, at Boston University Dance Theater, 915 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston.
Mason said, “The annual Spring concert will mark CYDP’s two decades of artistic excellence and dedication to training young aspiring dancers in Greater Boston.” The all-premieres program features choreography by renowned stars of ballet, jazz, tap, modern, and hip-hop, including Deborah Mason, Ian Berg, Adrienne Hawkins, Christopher Huggins, Jenny Oliver, Jeryl Palana, Demi Remick, and Leslie Woodies.
The CYDP Dance Company expands the concept of \\\\\\\”pre-professional training” by utilizing dance as a platform to enhance self-esteem, focus, teamwork, and creativity. The company opens its auditions to boys and girls aged 10-20. Once accepted, students are carefully placed into appropriate levels based on their performance and focus. All new and returning dancers must audition for the company each year. The CYDP Dance Company members are mentored and supported throughout the audition process by CYDP staff, and many have gone on to professional companies and careers.
