Drummer Dan Weiss and guitarist Miles Okazaki have been in musical exploration & conversation together since meeting at The Manhattan School of Music in 1997. They’ve played together in a wide range of situations ever since, and will released their debut duo recording ‘Music For Drums And Guitar’ on October 29th on Cygnus Recordings. The album is comprised of two suites commissioned for John Zorn’s Stone Commissioning Series, Okazaki’s ‘The Memory Palace’ and Weiss’ ‘Middlegame.’ The Memory Palace debuted in late February 2020 at National Sawdust in Brooklyn. The world had changed radically by the time Middlegame was to have debuted a month later at the same venue.
The concert will take place in Peabody Hall at the Parish of All Saints, 209 Ashmont Street, Dorchester, steps from Ashmont Station. Capacity limited, proof of vaccine and masks required.
